Announcing Women's Spring Bible Studies!

Dear Beltway Women,

I am so pleased to announce our spring semester Bible and book studies for 2014!  We have heard such great testimonies from many of you who attended Gideon and Captivating this last semester, and I know you will love these studies as well.

Here is a highlight of what is to come: We will be offering (3) different studies this semester, with (7) different meeting times.  I have spent weeks praying about where I thought the Lord would have us go…and I am so excited to offer these options for you!  We will also offer (2) sessions of studies for the Sunday and Wednesday classes.  First Session will start with Beth Moore’s Sacred Secrets and Lisa Bevere’s Lioness Arising: Wake Up and Change Your World…then move right into Why Do You Believe That? by Mary Jo Sharp for the Second Session.  You can register for the first session, or wait to register for the second session, or choose to do both!!  The studies are listed below, and I’ve included a link with each one, so you can check out the promotional videos of each.  This will help you make your decision on which class you want to attend.

When you make your choice, please register online here, especially if you need Children’s Ministry.  Also, resource material will be available in the Learning Center by the end of December.  Please remember to purchase your resources before you come to the first class.  This will make things so much easier for you!

Sacred Secrets by Beth Moore
(offered First Session Spring semester)
Jesus wants to spend secret time with you—an interior relationship that's unique to just you two. Sacred Secrets is the new 6-session study from Beth Moore that explores the theology of secrets. Secrets can be good or harmful. Some need forgiveness, and some should be kept between you and God.
Sundays (2nd Service), January 12-February 16 (led by Raenel Hebert)
Wednesdays at 10 AM, January 15-February 19 (led by DeAnna Fields)
Wednesdays at 6 PM, January 15-February 19 (led by Eunice Turner)
Study Journal cost $10.77 in the Learning Center.

Lioness Arising: Wake Up and Change Your World by Lisa Bevere
(offered First Session Spring semester)
The lioness rises from her slumber, a magnificent image of strength, passion, and beauty. Her mere presence commands the landscape, protects her young, and empowers the lion. In groups, lionesses act as one to become a creative and strategic force to be reckoned with. In the eight-week book study Lioness Arising, Lisa offers the life and image of the lioness as a fierce and tender model for women to wake up, rise up, and change the world.
Wednesdays at 6 PM, January 15-March 5 (led by Rene Black)
Book and Safari Guide cost $15.50 combined in the Learning Center.

Why Do You Believe That? by Mary Jo Sharp

(offered Second Session Spring semester)
How confident do you feel in talking about matters of faith? Do you wish you could express your beliefs with more effectiveness? Join Mary Jo in a practical seven-session study and gain understanding and skill to share Jesus effectively with others, and you'll better understand your own faith. Answer your doubts, build your confidence, and start changing lives.
Sundays (2nd Service), March 23-May 11 (led by Raenel Hebert)
Wednesdays at 10 AM, February 26-April 16 (led by DeAnna Fields)
Wednesdays at 6 PM, February 26-April 16 (led by Eunice Turner)
Member Book cost $14.02 in the Learning Center.

We hope you can join us for an exciting semester.  If you’ve never joined a Bible or book study before, please don’t be overwhelmed!  We will connect you with a small group of women who will walk through the study with you, encourage and pray for you.  It is such a blessing because the Lord is always gracious to teach us something new, which brings a beautiful transformation in our lives.  Hope to see you there!

Blessings,
DeAnna

Guest Post-The Importance of the Secret Place

This week, our guest blogger is Hannah Holmes.  Hannah is a stay at home mom with a passion to write and share the love of Jesus wherever she goes.  Hannah has served on the Women's Vision Team in the past and is currently serving on the worship team, healing and prayer team and several other ministries.  She is a gifted musician and loves spending time with The Lord as He unlocks His deepest mysteries in her heart.  You can find Hannah at www.hannahboneholmes.com The Importance of the Secret Place There was once a time when I thought my “ Quiet Time ” with the Lord  had to fit into a prescribed method.  In fact, when I heard about people who avidly set aside time in their “prayer closet,” I always wondered how they did things.  What was the magic structure that made the time  right  before God ? Was it, like…: 3 minutes – reading daily devotional 14 minutes – reading the Bible 8 minutes – praying, (using the ACTS method, of course!!) ADORATION (15 seconds)
