Meet Crystal Cox

You may recognize Crystal Cox from around Beltway Park.  Crystal is married to Tim, Assistant Director for Kid's Club. They have been married for fifteen years and have two daughters, Angelina,
who is twelve and Caitlin who is seven.  During the day, Crystal works as an Operations Specialist at ACU.

Crystal never envisioned herself married to a pastor.  When she and Tim got married right out of high school, the only thing they ever talked about was being in the military.  They had planned that the military would be Tim's long term career.  Even when Tim decided to leave the military, it wasn't to pursue ministry.  About a year after leaving the military, the Lord started to make it clear to them what He had been preparing them for the last ten years of their lives.  Even an injury that Tim sustained while serving overseas proved to be a tool the Lord was using to bring Him into vocational ministry.  This whole process proved to be one of the biggest faith steps that Crystal has walked through.  Through pay cuts and everything else that has come from that experience, Crystal and Tim have felt the true faithfulness of the Lord at every turn.

Another huge faith step Crystal is currently walking is adopting their nephew.  It's only been a few months since he came to live with their family.  There have been many challenges because of
everything he has gone through in his life, but Crystal and Tim know that God has BIG plans for their nephew and that through this experience their entire family will be blessed.

Crystal has been gifted with hospitality and serving as her spiritual gifts.  She loves to open their home up for people.  In Tim's position at the church, all of his staff are young college students and Crystal loves having them over to cook for and have fun.  Hungry college kids are great guinea pigs to try out new recipes!  Crystal also loves to share her gift of serving.  One of the ways she has served is in the Awana program from the time she was a teenager through a year ago.  She also serves as a nursery leader.

Over the last few years, God has placed a passion in Crystal's heart for missions.  She and Tim have served on the Ireland team
twice and look forward to being able to do even more.  Crystal treasures the relationships that are built by God with the people she helps while on mission.

When Crystal wants to decompress, she loves to put in her headphones and crank up her worship music.  She admits this is how she normally does her house cleaning.  Crystal also enjoys getting lost in a good book and shopping with her girls.

One thing you might not know about Crystal is how amusement parks have played key roles in her life in both highs and lows.  On a high note, Crystal was able to experience something she never thought she would when she and a friend rod the high flying bungee jump/swing at Six Flags.  Not only did she ride it but she did it twice in a row!  That takes guts!  However, on a low note, Crystal also learned a valid life lesson while visiting Disney World.  She had absentmindedly worn a light pink top and white capri pants to the park that
day, it never occurring to her that she would get wet.  But after a thrilling ride on the rapids ride, Crystal was soaked and had to walk around in slightly see through clothing the rest of the day.  Lesson learned!

Please take every opportunity to get to know Crystal a little better.  You will be blessed by her heart for her family and for the Lord!

Breakthrough by Audra Butler

I have been feeling some very strange and growing emotions since quarantine began.  I can’t define them. The only way to describe them are jumbled and cloudy.  It’s as if my mind and heart are growing cloudier with each day. I was texting back and forth last night with a dear sister (because that’s what you do in quarantine 😂 ).  Her texts to me were the exact feelings I had been experiencing.  It was confirmation that we were to start praying for breakthrough. I woke up early this morning and was so ready to sit in His presence, open His word, read what He had for me and hear His sweet voice.  But, when I looked outside, the sunrise caught me!  I immediately ran out to enjoy the pinks and oranges filling the sky.  Then, I turned the opposite way and I was in awe of the almost full moon and a Great Blue Heron sitting so majestically on the neighbor’s pier.  Our Creator’s beauty always outdoes itself and speaks an infinite amount of word...
