Announcing Women's Spring Bible Studies!

Dear Beltway Women, I am so pleased to announce our spring semester Bible and book studies for 2014!  We have heard such great testimonies from many of you who attended Gideon and Captivating this last semester, and I know you will love these studies as well. Here is a highlight of what is to come: We will be offering (3) different studies this semester, with (7) different meeting times.  I have spent weeks praying about where I thought the Lord would have us go…and I am so excited to offer these options for you!  We will also offer (2) sessions of studies for the Sunday and Wednesday classes.  First Session will start with Beth Moore’s Sacred Secrets and Lisa Bevere’s Lioness Arising: Wake Up and Change Your World…then move right into Why Do You Believe That? by Mary Jo Sharp for the Second Session.  You can register for the first session, or wait to register for the second session, or choose to do both!!  The studies are listed below, and I’ve include...

Christian Women's Job Corps

This week, the Beltway Women’s Vision Team had the opportunity to visit the new facility for the Christian Women’s Job Corps.  The mission of CWJC of Abilene is to help women in need develop the personal, academic, career, and spiritual skills they need to become self-sufficient.   They have recently moved to 1450 N. 17th, which is the site of the former College Heights Elementary school.  We were blessed to take lunch for eight women who are going through their program, and also some of the office staff.  What a pleasure it was to sit and fellowship with all these women, hear their personal stories, and then encourage them by praying a blessing over them.  Shirley Gossard and Barbara Bacon took us on a tour of the new place that is much larger than their previous location, and has so much potential to aide in changing women’s lives.   The CWJC is a free, thirteen-week program, designed to equip women in life and for employme...

S.H.A.P.E. Retreat!

Beltway Women is hosting the SHAPE Retreat next week, October 25-26, at Big Country Camp in Lueders, and you are invited! This is a wonderful opportunity for women to discover their God-given spiritual gifts.  It is our belief that each member of the Body of Christ has been gifted and is mandated by Scripture to be a minister.  Our purpose for this retreat is to prepare you for the works of service that God has ordained for you so that the Body may be built up. So why do we call it the SHAPE?  Well, each letter represents an aspect of your life that we will be discussing…Spiritual Gifts, Heart (or passions), Abilities (or natural talents), Personality, and Experiences (your life experiences).  All these things combined create your unique SHAPE, and help to determine what God intends to do in your life.  Understanding the purpose you were created for is part of the secret to knowing God’s will for your life!  God is consistent in His plan for each of ou...

Meet Angelique Moore

Introducing Angelique Moore ! Angelique is married to Jacob, Pastor of Creative Arts and Media.  They have been married for six years and have a five year old son, Kenaniah.  Angelique was a stay at home mom for four years, but this year she returned to work as a seventh grade science teacher and coach and is also in her last year of graduate school where she will earn an MA in Family Ministry.  Around Beltway Park, Angelique serves on the Home Team, Women's Ministry, Missions Team Leader, Prayer and Healing Teams and has been a past D-Group Leader. Growing up, Angelique did not see herself married to a pastor at all.  She recalls her dad praying over she and her sister on the way to church once, that they would marry "God fearing young Christian men who seek God’s face in all they do and are in the ministry or serving at church.”  Angelique and her sister, only eight and ten years old at the time, looked and each other and said ,”Ewwwwww, no dad...
