S.H.A.P.E. Retreat!

Beltway Women is hosting the SHAPE Retreat next week, October 25-26, at Big Country Camp in Lueders, and you are invited!

This is a wonderful opportunity for women to discover their God-given spiritual gifts.  It is our belief
that each member of the Body of Christ has been gifted and is mandated by Scripture to be a minister.  Our purpose for this retreat is to prepare you for the works of service that God has ordained for you so that the Body may be built up.

So why do we call it the SHAPE?  Well, each letter represents an aspect of your life that we will be discussing…Spiritual Gifts, Heart (or passions), Abilities (or natural talents), Personality, and Experiences (your life experiences).  All these things combined create your unique SHAPE, and help to determine what God intends to do in your life.  Understanding the purpose you were created for is part of the secret to knowing God’s will for your life!  God is consistent in His plan for each of our lives.  He would not give us inborn talents and temperaments, spiritual gifts, and all sorts of life experiences and then not use them.  By looking at who God created you to be, you can discover the ministry God has for you…the unique way God has shaped you and intends you to serve Him and His body.

The SHAPE Retreat is one of our smaller retreats, and a favorite of our leadership team.  There are only 50 spots available for first time guests, and this makes the setting more intimate, and creates an opportunity for women to get to know each other better.  Aspects of the SHAPE weekend include worship, testimonies from other women who have previously attended, teaching and assessments over spiritual gifts, a personality test, small group discussion, fellowship and even a scavenger hunt!  We will even discuss ministries and places of service for you to connect upon your return.  We desire for you to put your gifts to use to glorify God!

We ask that only regular attenders or Beltway members attend the SHAPE retreat since it is our hope to connect you into the ministries that Beltway Park offers.  The cost of the retreat is $40 and you can register online at this link.  (We will meet at Beltway Park Friday afternoon at 4:30 PM, and leave by 5 PM traveling by bus to the Big Country Camp.  We will return to Beltway by 6:30 PM on Saturday.  Registration includes motel type rooms with A/C and bedding, and 3 meals.)  Register soon, because we only have about 10 spots left!!

We hope to see you there!

Meet Sherrie Saltzgaber

And now... Sherrie Saltzgaber ! You may know Sherrie around Beltway Park as the Pastor of Freedom Ministries.  She is often involved in alter and healing prayer times, short term mission trips, kids' camps and teaching Freedom classes.  It's in these ministries that Sherrie uses the spiritual gifts God has given her with all her might. Equipped with the gifts of Teaching, Wisdom, Faith, Prophecy and Counseling, Sherrie says she is honored to use them as the Lord brings hurting, confused, broken and stuck people into her life on a daily basis.  She is excited and blessed to partner with Holy Spirit in releasing Truth that opens their hearts and minds to God's fullness for their lives. You can probably already see that Sherrie's passion is releasing the Kingdom of God on the earth no matter where she is or what she's doing!  Sherrie feels that she lived a good portion of her life in darkness, but now that she has experienced the Father heart of God, it is her res...

Meet Gaylene Templeton

Gaylene Templeton  (better known as GayGay to her 7 grandchildren) has been married to Ray (Beltway Elder) for 42 years.  They have 5 children: Amy, Misty, Ashlee, Abe, and Addison.  Their children range in age from 41 to 24, and their grandchildren range in age from 20 to in-the-womb (expected in December and March). Gaylene is passionate about being the best wife, mother, and GayGay she can be.  She was truly stretched in her faith when she was only 17, and had her first child.  "The biggest faith step would be trusting God to provide for our family and give us the wisdom to raise Godly children.  The Lord helped me through this with prayer, Bible study, and Christian fellowship." Little did Gaylene anticipate, about 4 years ago, her role as GayGay would take a frightening turn!  Her oldest grandson, Harrison (now aged 20), contracted a flu virus that attacked his heart.  "He was in the hospital for about 2 months, and it was touc...
