Let's Get Together Wrap-Up

Dear Beltway Women,

”Let’s Get Together” was an overwhelming success!  Thank you so much for joining us last Thursday to celebrate our Lord’s goodness.

I know some of you were surprised when we began the evening with that powerful and upbeat video “Break the Chain.”  I tell you, I was so happy to see most of you grab hold of the idea and participate with us in singing, shouting, clapping and dancing!!

Also, there is nothing sweeter than to hear over 300 women give glory to God in worship and celebration.  Thank you Cherith Newman and the worship band for using your gifts to lead us in that worship.

The testimonies from Hannah Holmes, Kristi Andrew and Kayla Weinkauf were proof that our God is alive, He sees and hears us, and He speaks to us and transforms our lives.  Thank you ladies for being so vulnerable to share the personal things that God has done in your life.

It was thrilling to hear Melissa Weaver recite her poetry “A Definition” of hope; it was such an encouragement.  As a matter of fact, we have posted that poem on the blog today so we can continue to share God’s encouragement with others.  Thank you Melissa for being bold to share your God-given talent and gifts with our women.

Most of all, I was excited to introduce my good friends to you, and I’ve heard from so many of you how blessed you were by listening to our leadership share their stories and give encouragement and wisdom from what they have learned in their journey of life.   We could have talked for a few more hours I’m sure!

Overall, it was amazing to see the connections that were made between various women and the generations.  It was truly a blessed night.  Thank you again Beltway Women for pursuing the Lord with me!

Love,
DeAnna

Meet Sherry Bluhm

If you don't already know, Sherry Bluhm doesn't take herself too seriously.  Having grown up in a very legalistic religion, Sherry finds the gift of Freedom in Christ as an invitation to truly enjoy life and show the world that walking with Jesus is a fun adventure. And adventure she does!  Sherry's primary adventure is being married to her husband, Brian.  Sherry says they've been married for twenty-three wonderful years for a total of twenty-four years.  We're sure it's this ability to laugh that has made so many of their years together wonderful.  Brian is an elder at Beltway Park and Sherry is blessed to be his "head cheerleader". Though she didn't quite envision herself as an elder's wife, in college Sherry was asked to write where she saw herself in ten years and she wrote that she would be married to a youth pastor.  Brian was a youth pastor before he and Sherry met, giving ground for a prophetic spiritual gift in Sherry. Sherry an...

Breakthrough by Audra Butler

I have been feeling some very strange and growing emotions since quarantine began.  I can’t define them. The only way to describe them are jumbled and cloudy.  It’s as if my mind and heart are growing cloudier with each day. I was texting back and forth last night with a dear sister (because that’s what you do in quarantine 😂 ).  Her texts to me were the exact feelings I had been experiencing.  It was confirmation that we were to start praying for breakthrough. I woke up early this morning and was so ready to sit in His presence, open His word, read what He had for me and hear His sweet voice.  But, when I looked outside, the sunrise caught me!  I immediately ran out to enjoy the pinks and oranges filling the sky.  Then, I turned the opposite way and I was in awe of the almost full moon and a Great Blue Heron sitting so majestically on the neighbor’s pier.  Our Creator’s beauty always outdoes itself and speaks an infinite amount of word...

Meet Gaylene Templeton

Gaylene Templeton  (better known as GayGay to her 7 grandchildren) has been married to Ray (Beltway Elder) for 42 years.  They have 5 children: Amy, Misty, Ashlee, Abe, and Addison.  Their children range in age from 41 to 24, and their grandchildren range in age from 20 to in-the-womb (expected in December and March). Gaylene is passionate about being the best wife, mother, and GayGay she can be.  She was truly stretched in her faith when she was only 17, and had her first child.  "The biggest faith step would be trusting God to provide for our family and give us the wisdom to raise Godly children.  The Lord helped me through this with prayer, Bible study, and Christian fellowship." Little did Gaylene anticipate, about 4 years ago, her role as GayGay would take a frightening turn!  Her oldest grandson, Harrison (now aged 20), contracted a flu virus that attacked his heart.  "He was in the hospital for about 2 months, and it was touc...
