Dusty Feet by Amber Barber

How often do you think about dirty feet? Probably not often. We walk through stores with them, we run on them, walk barefoot, wear terrible (but cute) shoes. They are our means to get around and how we get where we need to go. Recently, I have had two surgeries on my feet. I was down. I could not get around. I was stuck at home with my husband and my son. I was dependent on what they would graciously do for me. Sure, I had a scooter and a boot, but I couldn’t get to the car myself or get in bed myself. Forget about driving. I was solely dependent on these men to help me. Don’t mistake me...  My husband was an amazing nurse, but I was down for a while!  I am a MOVER, girls! If you know me, you know I am ALWAYS on the go and I do not move slow! The Lord slowed me down fast. Whilst I was in the midst of my pity party about life not looking like what I thought it would be, the Lord reminded me of the woman in Luke 7(36-50). She was a sinner and she knew it, but it didn’t stop her from washing Jesus’ feet with all she had to offer. Y’all – feet.  Back then they wore sandals EVERYWHERE! Talk about some dusty feet. She didn’t care if they smelled or if they were dirty. She brought Jesus all she had and her most prized possession just to wash his FEET! Simon tried to tell the Lord who she was, but Jesus wanted no part of it. He allowed her to wash his feet. Honestly the Bible doesn’t even mention her name, but you better believe Jesus knew her by name!
Sisters she was a sinner, just like you and me. But Jesus still gave her His time and so much more! When you think of how she just wanted a moment with Jesus so desperately, she was weeping on his feet and using her tears and perfume to wash His feet and dry them with her hair. I begin to wonder as I wept over my lack of feet, what did this woman want so badly from Jesus that she would wash His feet? She knew she was a sinner and she brought to Jesus the best she had to offer. I wondered what am I bringing before Jesus. My leftovers after a hard day, my complaints, my sins, my junk? This unnamed woman brought her best and Jesus gave her something immense.
‘Jesus said to the woman, “Because you believed, you are saved from your sins. Go in peace.’” (Luke 7:50)

What a gift! Ladies today I ask you what are you bringing before the Lord? Is it your best or your leftovers?

Guess what? It doesn’t matter to Jesus! He wants all of you. He wants every part of you. He desires for you to come to Him weeping or rejoicing.

After all, my sweet sisters, if He can turn water in to wine, he can turn your junk into treasure.
And ladies… you ARE His treasure.

Meet Sherry Bluhm

If you don't already know, Sherry Bluhm doesn't take herself too seriously.  Having grown up in a very legalistic religion, Sherry finds the gift of Freedom in Christ as an invitation to truly enjoy life and show the world that walking with Jesus is a fun adventure. And adventure she does!  Sherry's primary adventure is being married to her husband, Brian.  Sherry says they've been married for twenty-three wonderful years for a total of twenty-four years.  We're sure it's this ability to laugh that has made so many of their years together wonderful.  Brian is an elder at Beltway Park and Sherry is blessed to be his "head cheerleader". Though she didn't quite envision herself as an elder's wife, in college Sherry was asked to write where she saw herself in ten years and she wrote that she would be married to a youth pastor.  Brian was a youth pastor before he and Sherry met, giving ground for a prophetic spiritual gift in Sherry. Sherry an...

Breakthrough by Audra Butler

I have been feeling some very strange and growing emotions since quarantine began.  I can’t define them. The only way to describe them are jumbled and cloudy.  It’s as if my mind and heart are growing cloudier with each day. I was texting back and forth last night with a dear sister (because that’s what you do in quarantine 😂 ).  Her texts to me were the exact feelings I had been experiencing.  It was confirmation that we were to start praying for breakthrough. I woke up early this morning and was so ready to sit in His presence, open His word, read what He had for me and hear His sweet voice.  But, when I looked outside, the sunrise caught me!  I immediately ran out to enjoy the pinks and oranges filling the sky.  Then, I turned the opposite way and I was in awe of the almost full moon and a Great Blue Heron sitting so majestically on the neighbor’s pier.  Our Creator’s beauty always outdoes itself and speaks an infinite amount of word...

Meet Gaylene Templeton

Gaylene Templeton  (better known as GayGay to her 7 grandchildren) has been married to Ray (Beltway Elder) for 42 years.  They have 5 children: Amy, Misty, Ashlee, Abe, and Addison.  Their children range in age from 41 to 24, and their grandchildren range in age from 20 to in-the-womb (expected in December and March). Gaylene is passionate about being the best wife, mother, and GayGay she can be.  She was truly stretched in her faith when she was only 17, and had her first child.  "The biggest faith step would be trusting God to provide for our family and give us the wisdom to raise Godly children.  The Lord helped me through this with prayer, Bible study, and Christian fellowship." Little did Gaylene anticipate, about 4 years ago, her role as GayGay would take a frightening turn!  Her oldest grandson, Harrison (now aged 20), contracted a flu virus that attacked his heart.  "He was in the hospital for about 2 months, and it was touc...
