This week, the Beltway Women’s Vision Team had the opportunity to visit the new facility for the Christian Women’s Job Corps. The mission of CWJC of Abilene is to help women in need develop the personal, academic, career, and spiritual skills they need to become self-sufficient. They have recently moved to 1450 N. 17th, which is the site of the former College Heights Elementary school. We were blessed to take lunch for eight women who are going through their program, and also some of the office staff. What a pleasure it was to sit and fellowship with all these women, hear their personal stories, and then encourage them by praying a blessing over them. Shirley Gossard and Barbara Bacon took us on a tour of the new place that is much larger than their previous location, and has so much potential to aide in changing women’s lives.
